Don't make it worst!

Don't try to get some clothes stained 2 wash yours...cleaning the floor with other people's clothes after washing yours might just get you into restlessness as you would always remember your action each time you wear your washed cloth...Would you not have felt better to take a step ahead without drawing tears down a chick?

It grieves me intensely each time I see the rich feeling so less about the pain and agony they cause the downtrodden within the neighborhood. They do it so pleasurably! They could afford to put smiles on the faces of these poor hearts but they wouldn't because they nourish their wealth in their cries, yet they require their services to live comfortably. But what would it really cost these good for nothing rich folk to always pay for the services rendered to them by the poor? They work for them as gardeners, cooks, security operatives, gatekeepers, house-helps, drivers and the rest. They owe their salaries for months! I am of the opinion that they have the money to pay, but they wouldn't just be compassionate enough to do so because it hurts them so bitterly to see the poor smile. Why? Why would you derive desire in making worst what you could never think of making better?

My Country, My people

On 1 October 1960, Nigeria gained its independence from the United Kingdom. If truly independence means freedom from slavery, then I will be bold to say that we are not free yet! During the colonial era, Nigerians were undergoing compulsory hard labor which was aimed at building and developing the nation; railway lines, good roads, hospitals, schools and other infrastructural policies were in place. There was law and order! Students were encouraged to go to school. College education was enough to get you a good job! It was referred to as servitude but nation building was ongoing.

I wish we did not gain Independence as at when we did! ASUU has been on strike for months and all the president could say was that he was not in a hurry to proffer solution to the closure of Nigerian Universities. You think the colonial masters would allow this tragedy on education sector? Disciplines meant to be read for 4 or 5 years would be read for 8 or 9 years due to strike of different university workers. Ambitious students become less serious due to this paralytic factor usurping their academic efforts. Many end up craving for money which turns them into desperadoes. They experience academic decadence, setbacks in their pursuits for better future and many would have no choice than to subscribe to social vices as they are being used by many of these political rogues. Independence is never punishable and so unfriendly! We were told by our primary school teacher that we would someday become leaders of this great country, but years over years we have not become what we were meant to be. The names that used to ring bells as political leaders during our teenage years are still the people who rule the affairs of this country. They are never tired of causing pain and depression for us! They rule with the same old and crude mentality of enriching their purses with nation’s funds. I wish these people were born and dead before Independence! They never consider our struggles and tears! Nigerians are really struggling! We are really working! We are great hard-working people but these looters known as leaders would never ensure the fruitfulness of our efforts. They make laws and break them! They are never satisfied with their assets. They derive so much pleasure in merry at the expense of the masses whose tears are ever dropping down their cheeks. Should we call this true Independence? I wish we never had it!

I wish we never had independence! NYSC has degenerated to NATIONAL YOUTH SERVITUDE CORPS. You are sure of staying back home after serving your country. Youth empowerment has gradually faded away. America is what it is today because their leaders have never been selfish. They have always cherished their citizens. They have good plans for their youths. But our case is different! The hope of attaining higher education is no longer available for an average Nigerian. They make life difficult for us every day! We work they eat! We provide food for their tables! A Nigerian senator earns better than the American President, but most of our youths wallow in abject poverty after university education due to unemployment. Are we not still under slavery? We are not asking for much! Only stable education, stable power, employment opportunities to alleviate poverty, good roads and 24hrs effective security are what we are craving for. Nigeria could afford to make every citizen live in comfort with our natural endowments and resources, but these selfish leaders would not just allow it. They are so callous! So selfish! We are not truly independent because our leaders still keep us under servitude. They make our rights so expensive! We cannot purchase the good education we truly deserve…Independence is never a cheat! These political leaders cheat us on daily basis without mercy finding its way to their hearts. They do it so joyfully. That’s never independence!
I wonder what we still celebrate today as Independence Day! I wish we never had it! If the British knew that the INDEPENDENCE we gained then would not yield us true INDEPENDENCE they would not have thought of agreeing to dish it out...Anyway, I hope our leaders would someday think of giving Nigerians true dividends of INDEPENDENCE...I am not anti-independence but what we experience in this country is never true independence...God bless Nigeria, God bless Victor and friends...Happy 53rd Anniversary!
